*German Society of Maryland: Awards for Majors/Minors from Maryland studying in Maryland
The German Society established this Awards Program for college and university students from Maryland or Washington studying German. This program provides up to 3 awards of $1,000.00 each to outstanding Maryland students studying at colleges and universities in Maryland and Washington DC, who have declared a German major.
The German Society will also offer awards of $500.00 each to three Maryland students who are minoring in German at a Maryland or Washington DC college or university.

 Winners are invited to the AATG / GSM Awards Program every year:  2022 High School Awards




*AATG Maryland-DC Metro Chapter Scholarship for College Students ($300.00)
Eligibility Requirements: 
 
  1. College student currently enrolled in a German course in a college of our chapter. 
  2. German teacher must be current member of the AATG, listed with the Maryland/DC Metro Chapter.
  3. Student must have a 3.0 GPA in German courses, verified by his or her German instructor.
 
Application (Deadline March 1):
 
  1. Application Form (see below).
  2. One-page, typed statement of purpose explaining why the student wants to do a summer study program in German.  This must include the actual program student has applied to, cost of program, program dates.  Essay should also address reasons why the student has applied for financial assistance in the form of this scholarship.
  3. German teacher recommendation.
