German American Day 2015 at McDaniel

This year's German-American Day at McDaniel College will take place on
Tuesday, October 13th, 2015.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of German-American Day, which we would like to celebrate by hosting Uwe Kind.
The theme of this year's German-American Day is "25 Jahre Deutsche Einheit" This is also the theme for the t-Shirt design. Below are the rules and specifications for the t-shirt design contest.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you and we hope that you can help us have another successful GAD.

There will be 2 sets of workshops, Group 1(workshop 1-9) will run for 60 minutes and Group 2 (workshops A-I) will run for 90 minutes. Please sign up your students for one workshops only. They should choose one workshop EITHER from group 1 OR from group 2, not both. Please help us and use the online registration form. The URL

Every student who submits a design will be mentioned in the program and will receive a certificate.

Here are the rules and specifications for this year's
T-shirt Design Contest for GAD 2015
Submit your entries no later than: September 15
- Middle/ high school and college students are eligible to participate
- The design must be the work of the student.
- Illustrations can be used in addition to words.
- The design must include the original slogan depicting the theme of this year's GAD: "25 Jahre Deutsche Einheit"
- The design must measure 8.5 inches by 11 inches with one inch margin on all sides or
- Designs must be submitted via e-mail as an image (jpg or gif) or PDF bySeptember 15 and the original must be sent to us
- Schools are limited to one entry each. (Please adhere to this otherwise we will disqualify more than 1 entry per school.)
- The design may not display copyrighted figures in the design, e.g., Snoopy, Mickey Mouse. etc.
- Each entry must include on a separate paper the following information:
- student's last and first name
- teacher's last and first name
- school name
- school address
- teacher’s e-mail address
- Winning designs become the property of McDaniel College and cannot be returned and McDaniel College retains the copy rights for the designs.
- Winning students must attend GAD and pay the registration fee.
Every student who submits a design will be mentioned in the program and will receive a certificate.
- First Prize: $100
- Second Prize: $50
- Third Prize: $50
